Disney Junior To Debut The First Western For Preschoolers

Sweet Sassafras! There's a new sheriff in town!

A new Disney Junior animated series "Sheriff Callie's Wild West," and the first western for preschoolers [age 2-7] stars Mandy Moore [of Disney's "Tangled"] as the voice of Callie, a kitty cat sheriff who, along with her deputy woodpecker Peck and fun-loving cactus sidekick Toby, watch over the frontier town of Nice and Friendly Corners, ensuring that it remains the friendliest town in the west!

The series will premier on Disney Junior channels and programming blocks worldwide in 2014. THIS SUNDAY, November 24TH you can be among the first to see the series debut on WATCH Disney Junior and via the WATCH Disney Junior App.

I owned a pair of cowgirl boots as a young girl, as well as one of those rocking horses on springs! A 'blank canvas' [aka. Mom's wall], a crayon in hand, and me on my rocking horse once made for a very large mess! I imagine I would have loved "Sheriff Callie's Wild West."

Now I'm Mom to a pair of boys who are very different from one another. I appreciate how Disney Junior brings preschoolers characters that reach a wide range of 'princes' and 'princesses.' With "Sheriff Callie's Wild West," the princess who loves her cowgirl boots!

Whether Sheriff Callie is helping her horse Sparky regain his confidence after he slips and falls during a barrel race, or teaching her trusty deputy Peck ["High School Musical's Lucas Grabeel] a lesson about good sportsmanship through a game of horseshoes, she always comes to the aid of her townsfolk and in the process, imparts valuable lessons about good morals, manners and social ethics.

For those of you who like pudding pie with a crushed cookie|graham cracker crust, you can easily make our single serving "Callie Cups" for the upcoming series debut! Each cup can be layered any way you like with your favorite pudding, crushed cookies, and candies.

The desert plains of the wild frontier inspired our cups, topped with a few 'rocks and boulders' [Heath chunks] and layered with different types of 'soil.' We had a little fun with it and we each built our own cup! These fun bandana print napkins and inexpensive Sheriff badges came from a local party supply store, Zurchers.
